I lost both of my grandmothers when I was very young, and I never knew my grandfathers at all. How precious that relationship is. It's very obvious that you all cherish her.

I still have all 4 of my grandparents, but CS only has 1 remaining grandmother. She is moving out here to WA this fall so Pickle will have all of his great grandparents close by. I am so gratful for this. He will also have one great-great grandfather. My great-grandfather is in an assisted living facility about 1/2 a mile from our house. His health is failing, but we think he might hang on until Pickle comes home.

It's hard to see your grandparents get old. We lost my grandmother last Fall. She was 86 and went from relatively healthly to the hospice in about six months. It was her time I guess. It's still hard. Cherish every moment you have. I think it's great that you are spending lots of time with her and Roman.

Hi,
My husband and I have just started the adoption process from Russia, and I stumbled upon your blog. It looks so much like mine! our-journey-to-parenthood.blogspot.com Little Roman is such a beautiful little boy. I've enjoyed reading about your journey as we are doing our home study. Thank you for sharing your story.
